I'm not sure if this is expected behavior, feel free to close the bug if it is. I booted from a 10.10 livecd, ran Update Manager, and told it to install everything it found updates for. I'll attach the entire /var/log/apt/term.log, but here's the relevant piece: Setting up linux-image-2.6.35-22-
