strikingly similar to this one. Don't know if it's the same problem,
but I don't think it's fixed; in any case that one was a flash issue,

I was able to fix this simply (in Firefox) by installing & executing
Flash Aid addon:

I guess it fixed it because it updated flash to beta version (10.3)

Same problem for me after upgrading from 10.04 to 10.10. It used to work
fine in 10.04. I use the 32 bit version. Disabling Compiz also fixes the

I can confirm the same issue. The problem manifested after an upgrade
from 10.04 to 10.10 (stable). I then did a fresh install of 10.10 in an
effort to resolve the issue but it persisted.

Thats what I figured would happen. It looks like compiz is not working
with your Intel Graphics card. Using metacity solves the issue. It is
not an issue with firefox but rather your intel driver. It is a
hardware problem thus I was not able to reproduce it. I am going to see

Yes it did, but after i restated my computer the problem persisted. I
downloaded ubuntu 10.10 32bit about 1 hour ago and reinstalled it on my

Excellent. During a distribution upgrade, firefox config files can
become corrupt which is what happened in your case. The good news is
its an easy fix. Bad news is your loose all firefox preferences
including bookmarks if they are not synchronized.
To fix run the following command.
sudo rm -r
It works.
