wastvedt is correct on comment #2. Using dhclient instead of dhcpcd
makes this work. Seems something broke dhcpcd-3 since Ubuntu 10.04.

I had this problem as well. Setting wicd to use dhclient instead of
'Automatic' in the DHCP Client settings fixed the problem. It should be
able to use 'Automatic' though.
