What version of evolution-brutus was that? Did it only happen in the
docs directory??

Hi Adrian,
I think the problem got fixed in later versions, yours are rather old. Try svn
trunk
instead. With that you can do 'make distfiles' to generate files for the
package
manager in question. On gutsy it would create debs.

Hi Jules,
The versions were:
Brutus keyring 0.9.11 - this compiled without any problems
Evolution brutus 1.1.29.23 and 1.1.30.11 - both stopped at the same place with
the error shown
This only occurred for me in the docs directory, but this may simply be
the first directory found with the
In addition to Ian's comments above regarding Gutsy I also found that
automake-1.7 prevented the compilation of evolution-brutus, specifically
it gave the following errors:
Running automake-1.7...
docs/Makefile.am:35: `brutusdoc_DATA' is used but `brutusdocdir' is undefined
docs/Makefile.am:35:
Just wanted to note that this bug is still present in gutsy. The
workaround keeps working.

Hi Ian.
I just replied to your mail on the brutus list. There is something about
gutsy that makes e-b fail on that platform. The missing db.h is just one
symptom of this. I think that it is sufficiently different from edgy to
fall flat on its face and I suspect that the only solution to this
I have just tried the workaround above in gutsy. Couple of additionals:
(1) The additions to .bashrc can be summarised to:
export PATH=$HOME/opt/bin:$PATH
export LIBDIR=$HOME/opt/lib
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LIBDIR:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
export LD_RUN_PATH=$LIBDIR:$LD_RUN_PATH
which should work for

Yes, I still have this problem. The problem occurs if you are including
an IDL file in another IDL file. Imagine this:
/* a.idl */
module BRUTUS {
interface foobar {
void method();
};
};
/* b.idl */
#Include a.idl
module BRUTUS {
interface foo {
void bar(in foobar parm);
Thank you for your bug. Do you still have that problem? Could you
provide an example for that and explain what is happening and what else
you would expect?
