I am seeing a more up to date version of firefox in the maverick repos
than the one you have installed. Try doing a system update and see if
the problem remains.

No. Firefox does this automatically without prompting.

Greetings! Because I am a new subscriber to Ubuntu Bugs I am still getting
used to the lingo. I thought I might be picking up this bug when trying to
load pictures of John Githongo, the Kenyan corruption whistleblower. My
immediate thinking was that some hacker was trying to spoil his pitch. But
as
Open firefox
Open 3 tabs on three different websites
Close firefox
Reboot
Open firefox
See oops this is embarrassing
Hit refresh
All ok tabs load immediately

Very sorry for the late response on my part!
Ok, so I am going to try this on a fresh 64 Bit version of Maverick.
Can you give me the steps to follow in order to reproduce it so i know
we are doing it the same way?
Thanks!

I have experienced similar problems on Ubuntu since 9.04 (now on 10.10)
on several different machines, even after clean installs and subsequent
updates+upgrades. The problem is certainly around the interaction of
Firefox online/offline handling, Network Manager, and Gnome session
handling of power,
1. Reboot using button top right or power on
2. Regular GNOME session
3. This is in fact a fresh install of Ubuntu. I upgraded to an SSD.
