I am still running the same version of Ubuntu (though keeping it up to date with updates and such) and receiving the same problems; when I log in resolution will be wrong, icons will be rearranged or missing and sometimes the login box will be missing. I have not had the sideways screen issue how

David, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/

Just to let you know, i just restarted. Now my top-bar icons are fine, everything is where it is supposed to be. But my bottom-bar has again swapped the multidesktop icon and the trashcan. It's not that sort of a problem sometimes (like that), but it is completly odd that those icons go everywhere

I too have this problem. On startup - on GDM, i already see the resolution has changed. I can either login and rechange it back or restart and find it back to normal. Never happened the rotate thing, tho. Then, GNOME-ONLY, when i login, VERY OFTEN, the icons i have have all the position changed R
