Is this still an issue? I haven't experienced this issue and use VNC/RDP
to connect to my desktops while I am at school with both Windows XP and
SLED 10.2.

I turned the desktop sharing on via the GUI, which is basically a
checkbox - not much room for tinkering with configuration. If anyone
knows where those options are found and which should be modified, I'd be
happy to test it.

Yes, I've upgraded to Edgy final and it's still the same...
btw I just noticed that running top shows the two processes 'Xorg' and
'krfb' taking up 50% CPU each, which means no CPU time is left for
actually getting any work done!

This sounds an awful lot like a problem I had with a VNC server a long
time ago, on Windows. After a lot of frustration it turned out to be a
configuration issue. The VNC server was polling too zealously -
constantly polling the entire desktop, instead of a more effecient
strategy like polling
