Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

This has been a problem in every version I've tried on many different
architectures (including 32 and 64 bit) since at least Gutsy Gibbon
(7.10.) I just now read a tip on this page
<http://nzgeek.org/topic/40146/ubuntu-1004-slow-flash-performance> that
it may be caused by "Extra Effects." Since I've been enabling "Extra
Effects" every time, this seems like a correlation. Disabling "Extra
Effects" allowed flash to play normally. Let me know if there's anything
else I can provide.

** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
