Public bug reported: Binary package hint: mplayer
As you know, LADSPA can significantly enhance any sound-producing application, which supports this API. Mplayer is one of such applications. It has support for LADSPA plugins. However, if during the build proccess 'configure' script doesn't detect ladspa headers/libraries, this feature isn't compiled into final executable. On the other side, if mplayer is compiled with LADSPA support, it still can be fully usable on the target system without ladspa libraries installed. AFAIR, in breezy we had mplayer compiled with ladspa support by default, but in dapper and edgy it isn't. To fix this issue, it's sufficient to add ladspa-sdk to build-deps of mplayer. There is no need to change binary package dependencies. Hope, this will be fixed before Edgy release and (if it's possible) Dapper will be updated as well. Probably, Debian's mplayer has this issue as well. ** Affects: mplayer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed ** Description changed: Binary package hint: mplayer As you know, LADSPA can significantly enhance any sound-producing application, which supports this API.
