Hi Chris,
I'm unlikely to do any of the suggestions you mention as, as you've
read, I no longer use Ubuntu.
Well, I do - but I never bother to report bugs anymore.
Making Ubuntu better for others, by reporting bugs, is - as I
explained - unrewarding.

18 months have elapsed since I first reported it.
This is not directed at you personally, but I believe that if a
distribution wants to have people test it's early, alpha or beta,
versions the best way is to engage people who report bugs.

As an interesting data point, I installed the propreitary NVidia drivers and
suspend / resume work perfectly (same kernel).
So I think that this is related to how Noveau does something.
