Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver
After locking the screen using gnome-screensaver, I can't unlock it again. I see the following in /var/log/auth.log: Oct 23 13:07:15 nick unix_chkpwd[3309]: check pass; user unknown Oct 23 13:07:15 nick gnome-screensaver-dialog: (pam_unix) authentication failure; logname= uid=1001 euid=1001 tty=n013h179.wst.mun.ca:1.0 ruser= rhost= user=the_user_name I had a similar problem with KDE's screensaver... the solution was to set kcheckpass suid root (chmod 4775 `which kcheckpass`), as it was meant to be. ** Affects: gnome-screensaver (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Can't Unlock GNOME Screensaver https://launchpad.net/bugs/67767 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
