I tested the patches provided on Xfce Bugzilla, it works for me, I'll
upload new packages into hardy.

I can confirm this bug. Switching to a different UI theme fixes it,
except for these:
Human and Redmond exhibit the exact same behaviour.
Crux overrides the volume and CPU indicators (but not the network ones).
HighContrastInverse, HighContrastLargePrintInverse - the indicators don't seem
to

it's probably a bug in those xfce applets then. I don't know what they
do and whether they should use another color. Do you have another app
which is 'right' wrt this and if so what colors does it use?
