it's not a help issue and doesn't come from the .xml documentation

i think you closed this too quickly - dont we need to find out more...
i tried to put this link:
file:///usr/share/gnome/help/about-ubuntu/C/about-ubuntu.xml
into firefox and epiphany to check...they both gave me the error
message:
XML Parsing Error: not well-formed
Location: file:///usr/share/gn
marking as rejected, the carret mode (f7) is a feature and is optional.
The font issue has probably a firefox or fontconfig bug already opened

Thanks for your bug report. Can you please attach a screenshot of the
broken fonts? Does F7 get rid of the cursor? Are the fonts broken in
firefox or epiphany-browser too?
