The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel. There are one of two ways you should be able to test: 1) If you are comfortable

I have similar problem using USB. I use several USB devices on my laptop, a USB mouse, a USB keyboard, a USB IPW UMTS device (module: ipw). All work well on Windows and Ubuntu 5.10, but keyboard and IPW fails to work on 6.06 and 6.10 RC. it seems that the problem is in the new kernel usb handling.

I get no odd messages from dmesg that could be linked to the USB problem. Currently I run PCLinuxOS .93, which is based on kernel 2.6.16, that is one minor release more recent than the kernel of Dapper, and here everything works great. -- Inserting USB device causes system to hang
