On an A30 running up-to-date edgy, suspend does not complete when closing the lid. Suspend/Resume works from Func-F4. Also I discovered by accident that if I trigger the lid switch momentarly, it suspends, if I trigger the switch momentarly again it resumes. -- IBM X40 Thinkpad fails to suspend

This is related to kernel 2.6.17 and it's "upstream acpi merges", and also the framebuffer (last script under /etc/acpi/suspend.d/ ). The last script has a line "SHUTUP FRAMEBUFFER" as if someone was frustrated when it was written. Perhaps this can help you (it helped me, on a T60): https://bugs.l
