This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it
recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the

It uses acl, and you can check it with the "getfacl" command in the acl
package.
But if pulseaudio is using the device even when sound does not work, it
might be something else than ConsoleKit.
So any ideas on ow to debug issues with ConsoleKit?

What mechanism does the permission assignment use? It doesn't use

Still, while I get sound or I don't get sound it seems that pulseaudio
is accessing the device:

Hmm, the standard suggestions would be to try removing
~/.asoundrc.asoundconf and/or upgrading alsa:

I ran a debug on pulse while there was sound available on the speakers
