Public bug reported: linux-image-2.6.37-7-generic 2.6.37-7.19
Intel wifi dies and is not usable again until the hard RF kill radio switch has been toggled (the magic software-based firmware reload is clearly not good enough in this case). Average uptime is then about 2.5 minutes (utterly useless) until the next death. There are various other bug reports of Microcode errors over the last couple of years, but most of them are Expired, or have different restart 0xNNNNNNNN codes. This probably came from a recent natty upgrade upgrade as it has been happening since yesterday: both in Millbank and the wireless I was (trying) to use last night. It appears to be a mode that the module gets in. Last night it was eventually cured by a full reboot. $ lsmod | grep iwl iwlagn 270858 0 iwlcore 131979 1 iwlagn mac80211 239464 2 iwlagn, iwlcore cfg80211 142983 3 iwlagn,iwlcore,mac80211 [ 550.200277] iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: Microcode SW error detected.
