Same problem for me with Natty Beta 1. I did not test the installation
on my harddisk, though. Maybe this is related to bug 732677?

Note that driver installation works when booting from harddisk after
alpha 1 harddisk installation. So the bug may have to do with the fact
that I was running from the live cd image (installed on a USB stick)
