Ok, so compiz doesn't load.
Can you please first the Ubuntu Desktop classic that you can choose after
clicking on your name in gdm and tell me if you decorators and such?

Thanks for reporting this bug and help to make ubuntu better.
What's exactly your issue? no X server at all (and so, the bug should be
reported against the X server directly) or unity which doesn't display
(and you have an empty wallpaper once your session started).
