seems to work on an Aspire One D255.

If it helps to move the slider out of the center position, this might be
because one of the two internal mics have an inverted phase, so when on equal
volume, they cancel each other out.
We currently do not have a good fix for this, except workarounds like the above
which removes one

Just purchased a new acer aspire one D255 with the same problem.
I have bought two of the same netbooks and both cant use the INTERNAL
MICROPHONE, yet external mike works. distro is Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook i386
