I'd like to reopen the bug. I have two laptops, both running Ubuntu
10.4. On the Asus eeepc the resolution is reset correctly after sleep,
but not on the Dell Inspiron. On the Inspiron, the laptop resumes from
sleep in 'mirrored' mode.

display overriding my original configuration. My laptop is a Thinkpad
X200 and monitor is a Dell U2311.
My Ubuntu setup is updated to all the current patches and upgrades till
