Update:
Logging out and restarting GDM or logging in without Pulse Audio service
enabled did not help. But suspending to ram and waking up machine again
brought sound back for me.

I have this issue right now so I have run the suggested instructions.
Before sound disappeared I watched flash video from Vimeo on the following web
