Compiz works quite well here with my Mobility 7500 (like in previous
releases), it is the Unity part, when activated, that doesn't work well.

IBM T40 ati radeon mobility 7500 boots to purple splotch and cursor with CD
Live.
Was able to get running by Ctrl-Alt-F1, sudo service gdm stop, sudo service gdm
start
Then right click create a launcher with gnome-terminal
In gnome terminal do gnome-panel
Noticed the crash and submitted
