Same problem here. I use vinagre 2.30.2 on Maverick and all the
characters requiring a Shift do not work! If you use caps lock Caps are
working but all the characters requiring the press of Shift are
inaccessible. Any ideas?

OK I think I found the issue. The problem was not on the vinagre side
but on the vnc server. I use x11vnc and I added the -xkb flag to it.
rfkrocktk can you test it yourself? This is my setup:
root@MAE02WS004:~# cat /etc/xinetd.d/x11vnc
service x11vnc
{
port= 5901
I'm actually using x11vnc as well, I'll definitely try this out.
