Segfault on launch happened with Edgy and Dapper versions of qGo (your
crash log mentions qgo 1.0.4-r2-2) under certain circumstances.
The bug only appeared in Debian and Ubuntu, but was eventually fixed
upstream and doesn't happen in recent releases (recent Ubuntu versions
all carry 1.5.4,

The followed crash occurred after connecting to IGS (the default
server), watching a number of games (20) and then walking away.
When I returned, there many of the games had finished and the game
windows for each of these were trying to open a modal dialog. I hit OK
on these informational

I have just installed edgy on a laptop (Dell d620) and qgo now starts
successfully, but on start up the following messages are displayed:

Neither on my my edgy, does this happen every time, or just once?
