I can also confirm this. same fix speed things up. i'm running a hp nc 4000 intel pentium m 1400mhz 512 mb ram default edgy kernel (2.6.17-10-generic) Never had and problem under dapper / breezy -- very slow edgy when no noetwork https://launchpad.net/bugs/69941 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list
