The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:

I can tell you about my own system: I found the source of the problem

I noticed that nearly every report of random Ubuntu crashes on the

It would be helpful to know if this issue still exists in the Hardy
Heron 8.04 Alpha release as it is the next LTS target. The Hardy Heron
Alpha series was recently released which contains an updated version of
the kernel. You can download and try the new Hardy Heron Alpha release

systemic cause for them (mainly because I have no idea what Aiee is or
does). I'm interested if it is indeed caused by the ethernet card... I

Hi Brian,
I also reported this problem long time ago.
I made a lot of investigations, cause it seem this problem is not strictly
related to ubuntu, but can be found in other distros also.
The "nice method" i used to fix this problem in ubuntu was to add a kernel
panic reboot 3 secs (if kernel pa

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for
you? Thanks in advance.
