Since this issue is fixed already under Ubuntu Natty I have marked as
Fix Released for now. if someone could made a backport of this issue to
Maverick would be great.

In 10.10, banshee-extension-magnatune 1.8.0-1ubuntu1~maverick1 does not
show up as an add-on for Banshee. If that's fixed in Natty, then great.
As for the original complaint, of opening USC and searching for
magnatune, the issue there is that (a) Amarok has a .desktop file, (b)
Amarok's package
I'm in Maverick. If it's fixed in Natty, great !

I guess the report is fine, only the packaging metadata of either the
banshee or the package containing the magnatune extension must be
changed, thus this seems to be an issue with one of those packages, but
I'm not sure which one of them, thus I'll reassign it to banshee, and
somebody from there
I have checked, and for me, on Natty, banshee-extension-magnatune
appears in the add-ons list of banshee. The packaging seems to be ok.
What version of software center do you use, what version of banshee-
extension-magnatune and what version of banshee do you have?
