I'm having this bug with gdm in oneiric (fresh install). It was working
fine for me in natty.
To begin with the gdm greeter displays a list of users only by name
without any user profile pictures. The user pictures appear if I click
on a user and then cancel (instead of entering password).

The above appears in syslog each time I login. I don't know much about
gtk or gdm but it would make sense if the greeter is having trouble
sizing the window properly.
The greeter window it creates is too small to fit the pictures of each
of us. After clicking a user and clicking cancel it shows

This effect to me was only of low importance so i did not report it,
but i see it since i use maverick.
Kind of workaround: Abort a login process, thereafter the user faces
appear completely.

Yeah it was such a small problem I thought about not reporting it... but
at the same time a bug is a bug even if its small.
