program does not offer optical media error correction or skip when
media
rhythmbox does not list libdvdread as a dependency. If you can
reproduce the bug using a libdvdread-using utility, file a bug against
libdvdread with steps to reproduce (I've not seen this particular error
myself and use libdvdread pretty heavily with a lot of scratched disks.)

Bugs, which is subscribed to
rhythmbox fails silently when faced with the task of ripping a scratched
CD. It does nothing but sits there constantly trying to read a scratched
second from the CD. Most CD players would simply insert a second of
silence or cut out that part. Warning the user that this was done would
be helpful. I
