Shouldn't be the 10.04 guide fixed? It's a LTS release and the place
where search engines point to. I've been following the guide and
wondering where I did go wrong. With just a change in the command users
deploying LDAP can save a significant amount of time.
I've tried this command:
sudo ldapsea
These docs were updated in 11.10 and it looks like a change along these
lines was incorporated. Please let us know if you are still having
problems with this step of the configuration. Thanks.

The Ubuntu Documentation team has moved the serverguide out of the
ubuntu-docs source, it is now under the serverguide project. Moving
this bug accordingly.
I'll leave this open under ubuntu-docs as we may want to do a SRU for
this in Lucid. Thanks for your feedback, Matteus.

Had a look at this again (although on a debian squeeze install) and
reading my fix description above I think that
1. "ldapsearch -LLL -Y EXTERNAL -H ldapi:/// -b cn=config dn" may not work
2. config need only contain the following:
dn: olcDatabase={0}config,cn=config
changetype: modify
add: olcRo
