Have you guys considered the way Apple does it with Spaces? Click to
drag and release click with nothing dragged to exit out of it?

In Maverick Netbook Edition a single click was sufficient for switching
workspaces. In Natty this changed to double click, which is very annoying. My
MacBook has no separate keys for clicking, you press the whole touchpad down
for doing a click. Doubleclicks are very hard to do this way.
