I've just fixed this issue executing this command:
sudo bash -c echo 'options snd-hda-intel model=auto position_fix=0'
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf
I found this on Ubuntu Frech forum: http://forum.ubuntu-
fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=428181p=2
Hope this helps.

Alsa drivers have now been released to match last weeks kernel update
dantheperson@rebirth:~$ sudo apt-get -f install
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Correcting dependencies...Done
The following extra packages will be installed:
also affects -server kernels ( and all of them i imagine ). Now my PVR
has no sound :(
The following packages have unmet dependencies.
linux-backports-modules-alsa-lucid-server: Depends:
linux-backports-modules-alsa-2.6.32-28-server but it is not installable

To add to this:
I remembered that I use the linux-backports-modules-alsa-lucid-generic
package. This package has installed version 2.6.32-27; and when
attempting an upgrade I get the error message that the backports-
modules-alsa-2.6.32-28-generic package is not present, and thus not
installable.
I can confirm this, hope this is fixed soon, i expected this package is
generated together with the kernel, the kernel should not be released
without the backports modules being rebuild for new kernel.
