openbox system wide debian-menu.xml error
To manage
I can confirm the error and that the symlink described in the
description fixes the issue. The file is on my file system and has
proper permissions. I am not sure why it isn't being read properly and
haven't had a lot of time to debug it fully.

My error is a little different.
Openbox-Message: Unable to find a valid menu file
/var/lib/openbox/debian-menu.xml
It is correct; the file isn't there. A apt-file search for it turns up
nothing.

I think it might be useful if those reporting this issue could provide
the usual details of their machine setup (by running ubuntu-bug openbox,
or by hand) and including a full set of steps to reproduce. Flavour
and version of Ubuntu, in particular, would seem highly relevant.
