I have recently installed Ubuntu 10.10 on my Asus EeePC. I was recently
given a PWR+ external CD-RW. When I plug it into the USB port, it will
not auto-run. However, if I go to Places->Computer. The icon for CD-rom
show up. When I insert a CD into the CD-rom, the icon completely
disappears. When I visit System->Administration->Disk Utility, I find
the CD-rom still listed. I can eject the CD from the CD-rom from that
menu. However, I cannot view the information on the CD. I re-installed
Ubuntu 10.10, using the external CD-rom. However, the problem still
exists.
