Public bug reported: Binary package hint: unity
I have the Hide Launcher setting set on Dodge Active Window. When I hover over the Ubuntu icon, a faded Unity appears, when I try to use this faded dock, it disappears. The opacity varies depending on the pointer position, bottom right being the most translucent and top left being the most opaque. When your pointer reaches the top left corner, Unity stays visible, and you can then operate it. I have attached some screenshots showing this.
