Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver
I am running amd64, the real time kernel. Since the update from 10.4 to 10.10 I cannot login as normal, since my password seems to be unrecognized in the graphic boot account selection screed. I must use the grub menu to select the recovery mode kernel, then resume boot and login at the command line prompt then startx. The password works at the command line. I tried to report this bug a month ago but couldn't get to the system to make the report. If I try to select the latest generic kernel, I get a cryptdisk error and then the boot loops. I am available to try to help to work on this, it is very painful. Please advise if you think a clean install of 10.10 would solve the issues. Thanks, Bob.
