the debug interpreter loads foo_d.so, and if that cannot be found, as a
fallback foo.so for compatibility with not-renamed extensions. this is
expected behaviour. it's handled the same way in 3.3.

Just discovered that this crash goes away if python-gobject-dbg is
installed... in other words, there is no problem as long as
python2.7-dbg is able to find the debug version of the module. However,
if only the standard version of the library exists, then python2.7-dbg
seems to fall over.
