zardoz, Vuen, since there is so much going on here (AHCI, no AHCI,
kernel versions, etc.), I'm going to mark this as "rejected" to close
it. If you could open new bug reports for the current specific behavior,
that would be fantastic. If it looks like AHCI SATA is the culprit,
we'll come update thi

Ah yes, when I saw Alexander's post a week ago I got all excited and
upgraded to Feisty right away; I forgot to post my results.
So here's what happens. The hibernation shu
This is a bit problematic as i switched from AHCI-SATA to IDE-Emulation-SATA
mode in the BIOS.
Now the PC does a correct hibernate shutdown, but when waking up it hangs
there. I get the splashup and after loading a while it hangs up with an
horizontal grey bar on the screen. But perhaps Kernel 2
zardoz, Vuen, since it appears this was fixed in 2.6.20, any chance you
can test this under Feisty and report your results? Warning: Feisty is
pre-release development software right now, be sure to backup valuable
data before doing any testing.

This is my configuration:
Dell Inspiron 1501, AMD Turion X2 TL-50, 2G RAM
Distro: XUbuntu 6.10 Edgy
Problem, with default Ubuntu Kernel 2.6.17-10 , suspend and hibernate
didn't work. I read on some post that the AHCI driver have some problem
to be restore after a suspend on kernel < 2.6.19

I know, I couldn't find any error logs either! I was going to write about
the fact that no logs seem to be generated in my post but I figured I just
wasn't looking in the right place.
And yes, I have Windows dual-booted (video games :/) so IDE mode is not an
option. Here's hoping the kernel develo
Which kernel version are you using ? (type uname -r in a terminal to
know this). Maybe you should mak it as "also affect linux-
source-2.6.xx-x-y" replacing by your kernel version numbers.
