Indeed, the problem is gone now. It does crash when I cancel the
encoding though, I reported that as bug #731292

With today's update (of libdbusmenu) this bug is solved for me, while
recording the menu gets updated properly, I get an "Pause" entry etc.
@Vadim, can you please update your system, if this issue gets fixed for
you too we can close this bug, thanks.

I had a quick look at the code, of the indicator applet for
gtk-recordmydesktop, everything is looking ok there.
As far as I understand this issue it is a bug in dbusmenu (LP: #728503) where
menuitems are not updated properly.
