Public bug reported:

When I try to boot from an Ubuntu livecd, It locks up immediately after
I hit "boot to livecd" (not exact words). It doesn't even begin to show
progress of loading the livecd kernel into memory, The second i hit the
option, the machine locks up.

I have updated my machines BIOS to the newest version.

I have tried every option in the list, all react the same way.

I have burned more Ubuntu cd's than I can count, and tested them on
other people's computers, they all work fine.

I have done lots of reading, I have tried booting with options "noapic",
"nolapic", "apci=off" and all possible combinations of them.

I have also tried ubuntu 6,06 livecd, Ubuntu 6.06 alternative, Xubuntu
6.06 livecd and Ubuntu 6.10 livecd.

The strange thing is that the Kubuntu livecd works fine. Unfortunately I
am not much of a Kubuntu fan. Right now I have Kubuntu with gnome
running. I would really like to be able to run Ubuntu.

I have a compal HEL80 laptop.
