No, I haven't used any script or ppd file. In the past it just worked
automatically.

I had the same problem, after installing a lexmark, but had installed the
printer in kde system settings before I installed the right ppd.
So here are my questions: did you install the printer with a script or ppd file
(linuxprinting.org) and did you install it bef
