thank you for the hint, you are indeed correct, the origin for all of
those errors seems to be the GetDeb repository and they urgently need to
fix their packages.
I guess they FUBARed something in the last few days.
I'm forwarding this to the GetDeb People.

This is not a bug in dpkg but in the packages that you are installing.
The "normal" priority has never existed, see the Debian policy for a
valid list of priorities. http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-
archive.html#s-priorities
