Hi Andrei,
You can find a more recent version of OpenSwan (2.6.31) in this PPA
https://launchpad.net/~openswan/+archive/openswan-testing
I don't know if this version will work as I only tested OpenSwan on
Ubuntu Lucid but maybe you could give it a try.
