I haven't upgraded the firmware in my Copperhead. The problem doesn't
occur in Gutsy or Hardy. It got automagically fixed by an update at some
point. So it is no longer an issue.

Reading comments appear to be a firmware problem, and could be fixed upgrading
the mouse firmware itself.
So I mark it as invalid.

It's a bug in the Razer Copperhead firmware. This happens in windows as
well, solution is to upgrade firmware. Do NOT use the firmware included
on the CD, it may damage the mouse. Good firmware can be found on razers
website.
Razer forum regarding this bug:

Hello.
When you plug-in the mouse, it'll find two devices: a mouse and a keyboard. So,
you have to unload keyboard module or if you can't do that, you have to disable
USB keyboard in your kernel. After doing that, I have no more troubles with my
copperhead.

razer USB mouse isn't recognized
After much experimentation and luck I have found that the mouse not
working on boot is due to something happening on shutdown.
If you shutdown or reboot from terminal with these commands:
Shutdown Command: sudo shutdown -h now
Reboot command: sudo shutdown -r now
Then for me at least, on boot th

Just want to add that having been searching forums for the past few days

I've had the same issue. Razer was working fine, then I went through the
nvidia update problems with 2.6.17-10 to 11. Now when I boot the Razer
is not recognised. If I unplug and replug, it does work. If I reboot it
is not recognised. A PS/2 mouse on another port does work all the time.
