I don't think there's any hang, just a side-effect of control-c when apt
runs (IIRC in some actions it doesn't actually do anything, since it
seems to be trapped to avoid breakage).

Well, I didn't time it... there was a flicker to the term window, as
though maybe the screen full of text kept being re-outputted. I let that
