[natty] problem opengl in unity

Similar problem here. Unity doesn't start. Wishlist: Make Unity work
with OpenGL 1.2 without extensions (and not only with OpenGL 1.4+ plus
some extensions).
I have an Intel Celeron 1800 MHz, 768 Mb RAM and an Asus AGP-VGA with
nVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400 GPU (32 Mb Video RAM). Just installed Ubuntu
Installed 11.04 on 4 PCs and had this problem on the oldest one.

I don't see any fancy stuff I could desire from my desktop that is not
currently supported by Gnome+compiz, which
I'm just curious:
Do we have the same strict OpenGL hardware limitations for gnome3 (gnome-shell)?
Did anyone of you (especially "montun") successfully run gnome-shell on the
affected hardware?
I don't want to start any flame war here, but I think affected users
should know about their options...
Maybe we should mark this as wishlist since I clearly don't see a
technical reason for those "high" hardware requirements. Or does Unity
use some fancy effects which wouldn't be able to be implemented in older
hardware?

Unity as a higher hardware requirement than compiz ?
What was the point to port to compiz then ?

The card is a IGP 330M/340M/350M with a graphics chipset ATI RS200 from 2003.
As stated in the error message this hardware supports OpenGL up to 1.3 and 1.4+
is required.
Same limitation with RV250 and RV280 which support DirectX 8.1 and OpenGL 1.3
I'm closing this report because it is not a bug
The same happens on RV280. It's really frustrating since Compiz and AWN
run perfectly fine on that hardware.

Same problem here on a HP Pavilion zt3300; no wonder since this is
virtually the same like the nx7010, I think.
