Am trying this on 10.04 with a Dell D600.
Last year it worked in 9.04 (or was 8.10).
This year I can't get it to work.
pcsc-lite won't compile anymore.
Any clues on the needed pcsc-lite version?

I have a Philips 13NB5602 and i have the same problem with Lucid beta,
the SD card is mounted in read-only mode. Here is my "lshw" output:

under the pcmcia slot the only thing I've got is an expresscard slot
that can accept 34 and 54 expresscards which are thicker than 1 mm. re
this expresscard slot --> to date I did not use it - a 34 32gb
expresscard is on order - as soon as it arrives I'll try this port

Sorry, my previous comment was a bit short, but I needed to go to a exam, which
went fine.
It is possible you didn't find you reader. Mine is just under my pcmcia slot,
it is just a 1 mm on 4cm thin slot.
Still, this driver will only make your smart card reader work. You should also

I think you use the wrong driver and also post this comment on a wrong bug.
The driver posted in this bug is needed for a SmartCardReader, which is a
device to read the chip of you ID/Bank-card.

It worked for me with a small patch that i submitted. There is also a

Would like to see this added to ubuntu.
These card readers is in the Dell XPS series as well.
The reader in XPS M1710 is: O2Micro OZ77Cxx USB SmartCard Controller
and that one is not recognized at all.
