I was aware of the Unity keyboard shortcuts that exist when I posted
this "bug." And I had previously consulted the superb askubuntu list of
keyboard shortcuts before posting. Holding down the super key does not
address the issue I am talking about. To help better clarify what I am
describing:

As we approach release, it would be useful to map the shortcut
documentation into a place like unity.ubuntu.com.
