The bug persists in Ubuntu 11.10 oneiric.
I have just dist. upgraded from 11.04 (Kubuntu, with gnome and unity too) and
when installed manually resolvconf:
$ sudo apt-get install resolvconf
(.)
Setting up resolvconf (1.48ubuntu1) ...
mkdir: created directory `/etc/resolvconf/run'
mkdir:
This is a bug in the Ubuntu patch.
